Our Story
India does not need to learn sustainability. It needs to remember it.
For generations, nature was not something Indian children encountered only in textbooks. It lived in our stories, festivals, traditions and everyday ways of life.
Prakriti Sena was born from a simple belief: if children can rediscover that connection through heroes and adventures they love, caring for nature will not feel like another lesson. It will become part of who they are.
01 - The world they are growing into
Children are inheriting environmental challenges they did not create.
The air they breathe, the water they depend on and the natural places around them are changing rapidly. Yet much of the way we speak to children about these challenges begins with fear, facts and instructions.
We tell them what is going wrong. We ask them to save water, reduce waste and protect the planet. But information alone rarely changes how a child sees their place in the world.
Before children can be asked to protect nature, they must first be given a reason to love it-and a story in which they have the power to act.
02 - What we had forgotten
Nature was never separate from our stories.
Across India, generations grew up with rivers treated as living beings, forests filled with meaning, the sun and wind recognised as forces of life, and the five elements understood as the foundations of existence.
This wisdom did not begin as “environmental education.” It was carried through stories, celebrations, customs and everyday relationships with the natural world.
Prakriti Sena does not attempt to recreate the past. It brings this inherited wisdom into the world children inhabit today-through contemporary heroes, modern challenges and adventures built for a new generation.

Why I started Prakriti Sena
I left London to build the heroes I wished Indian children already had.
I grew up between Mathura and Delhi, surrounded by stories in which nature, place and imagination were inseparable.
Years later, working at the intersection of technology, capital and climate, I began to see the challenge differently.
We had more data, technology and policy than ever before. But we were still struggling to make people-especially children-feel personally connected to the natural world.
When I looked at the stories my own son was growing up with, another absence became impossible to ignore. Indian children knew superheroes from distant cities and imagined worlds. But they had very few contemporary heroes who came from places like their own, carried ideas from their own civilisation and confronted challenges visible outside their own windows.
So I returned to India with a question:
What if the next generation encountered nature not only as a problem to solve, but as a source of identity, imagination and power?
Prakriti Sena began as my answer. Not as a climate curriculum dressed up with characters, but as a superhero universe children would genuinely want to enter-heroes from different regions of India, powers rooted in nature, villains born from real environmental challenges, and stories in which children are never merely spectators.

04 - From one hero to a universe
It began with a boy who could hear the air.
Aarav emerged from Delhi NCR, where the air itself had become an invisible threat. His first adventure, Battle of the Breath, became a story about courage, family and a young hero awakening the power of Vayu.
But the story could not end with air. India’s rivers, forests, mountains, coasts and cities carried stories of their own. Nila awakened beside the waters of Kerala. Other heroes began emerging across the country-each rooted in a different region, each carrying a different power and each confronting a threat their generation could recognise.
Together, they became the Prakriti Sena.

05 - Beyond the screen
The child is not outside the story.
Every Prakriti Sena adventure is designed to travel beyond a book or video.
Children can build the tools used by their heroes, conduct experiments, investigate their surroundings, play together and complete missions in the real world.
A story about polluted air can become an air-quality investigation. An adventure about a river can become a mission to understand water in the child’s own community.
The aim is not simply to teach children about nature. It is to help them experience themselves as observant, capable participants in the world around them.
